Who’s Who?
These are some people I may have or will be mentioning in my blog.
Family
- LB: My Little Brother. He’s 18 and stands at about 6’4″. He was a wrestler in HS and he plays Rugby. I call him the gentle giant and he’s a real gentleman. He has an amazing sense of humour (think of Dane Cook without the profanity) and can always make me laugh. He’s my #1 BFF.
- Mutter: My Mum. She is ditzy, loud, loving, generous and loyal. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She loves tractors, horses and anything farm related. She loves going to the county fair every summer. She is in love with my dad and has been for the past 29 years or so. She got pregnant with my older brother at 18 (out of wedlock) and so I often joke around with her about being a teen mum.
- Daddy-O or Fascha: My Dad. He is a science nerd who got his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology. I know, boring right? He’s a great guy though, a man of few words and the person I am most like. We both would love to travel with Andrew Zimmern and eat weird, exotic foods. We also share a love of seafood and gourmet foods.
- BB: My Big Brother. He has tattoos, loves beer (in moderation) and cigars, married his dream girl and has managed to produce the most adorable little girl on the planet (with the help of his beautiful wife). He’s a stay-at-hom dad and is in a punk band. He loves wearing converse shoes and Irish Flatcaps.
- LJ: My Sister-In-Law. She’s a high school home ec teacher. She’s outgoing, bubbly and fun. She’s was the popular girl in high school and was voted “Class Clown” by her peers. How she managed to fall madly in love with my shy, quiet brother is beyond me. But they did and I am grateful. She is the mother of the most adorable little girl on the planet who looks just like her. LJ’s mini me is what we sometimes call her daughter.
- EJ or Mini LJ: My niece. She was born in April of 2008. She is chubby, slightly bald and has big, beautiful turquoise eyes. She’s the light of my life and my little buddy. She enjoys watching What Not to Wear, Bringing Home Baby, VH1 and CMT (no joke). She loves to sing and laugh. Her favourite toy is a tiny little stuffed Charlie Brown doll. She enjoys looking at herself in the mirror and shopping.
BFF’s
- T-Dawg: My very best friend. We met during my freshman year, her sophomore year of college. We’ve been through it all together. Bad breakups, bad decisions, loser boyfriends, family problems, the list goes on. She’s always there for me when I need advice and visa versa. She lives about 3 hours away from me and I miss her on a daily basis. She has long black hair and the brightest blue eyes you will ever see (she hates it when I talk about her eyes). She just recently becamed engaged to an amazing guy, RW. I’m overjoyed that she finally found someone that is good enough for her.
- K-Ten: My other very best friend. We met during our sophomore year of college. She lived in the quad across from mine. I went over to visit a friend, her roommate and that’s when we first met. She was making a present for her then boyfriend and listening to a song entitled “I love you baby” by Brak. We were roommates for a year before we both transferred to different colleges. I often joke around and say that living with her prepared me for motherhood. I would wake her up for class, sometimes pick out outfits for her, and on one specific occassion was rudely awoken by her throwing a mini tantrum because she wanted to go to McDonald’s for breakfast (she was half joking about the tantrum). I miss living with her though, it was a blast.
- Babe: Another one of my very best friends & my confidante. She graduated with LB and is pretty much a part of our family. She and LB both not so secretly like each other but are both too stubborn to do anything about it. She is extremely intelligent but is also very unpredictable/scatterbrained/ditzy. She is kind of like a hybrid of Jessica Simpson in Newlyweds and Anna Feris from the Scary Movie movies. She is also another one of my beautiful models. She plays softball at her college and is one hell of a pitcher.
- Fish: My almost little sister. We met at church where I am a high school youth sponsor and she is a high schooler. She calls me her big sister and sadly looks up to me as a role model, which is a title that I am honored to have, yet don’t feel in the slightest, worthy of. I call her Fish because she reminds me slightly of Dory from Finding Nemo. She plays golf, sings in show choir, has a cute older brother (shhh don’t tell her) and is a beautiful model (she models for me for mock photography shoots I do).
